Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Riverside Residents Directory. Accessing the pages means you accept them; anyone who disagrees should stop using the reference.

1. What This Website Is

Riverside Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical collections connected with Riverside, California. It describes and links to custodians such as Riverside County ACR, Riverside Superior Court, city offices, state agencies, libraries, and archives. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any of those offices.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. You may not use these pages or any linked result to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make any decision that the Fair Credit Reporting Act regulates, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Riverside Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. Neither these pages nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing returned may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Links to Outside Sites

County, city, state, court, library, archive, and sponsored search links lead to services with separate rules. Riverside Residents Directory does not control their content, uptime, charges, security, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The pages are supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. No promise is made that a fact, fee, coverage date, or link is complete, current, accurate, or available when visited.

6. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of Riverside Residents Directory or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record found there.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. A link or brief attributed quotation is welcome. Republishing full pages or copying the content systematically is not permitted.

9. Changes to These Terms

A new version may replace these terms when posted here. Continued access after the change signifies acceptance of the revised wording.

10. Cutting Off Access

The operators may block or limit access for a person who violates these terms or abuses the pages, with or without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act, Government Code Division 10, §§7920.000 through 7931.000, governs requests to public custodians; it does not make this private reference the custodian of a Riverside record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
